How to adjust sensitivity/frequency on a Magnetic gate
PURPOSE
To adjust the sensitivity and/or frequency on a Magnetic Gate if the gate arm is closing on customers vehicles that are still in the gate loop area. Adjust the frequency up to allow the gate to sense vehicles at a greater rate.
PROCESS
Sensitivity
- The sensitivity of the Magnetic Gate and merge loops can be set independently of each other. Each loop can be set anywhere from 0-9. The default sensitivity setting for the gate and merge loops is 5.
- Menu steps to adjust the sensitivity of the loops:
- On the Operational View screen, press the right control button. The Main Menu screen will appear.
- Press the down arrow until Detector 1 (A-B) is highlighted.
- Press the right control button. The Detector 1 (A-B) screen will appear.

- Press the up or down control buttons to raise and lower the sensitivity of the selected loop.
- Press the right control button to confirm.
- Press the left control button three times to return to the Operational View screen.
Frequency
- There are two frequency settings: High and Low. To eliminate interference due to loops in close proximity, it may be necessary to stagger the Loop A frequencies of gates that are next to each other.
-
For example, if a site has (3) gates, gate 1 loop A should be set to High, gate 2 loop A should be set to Low, and gate 3 loop A should be set to High.
- Changing the frequency setting:
- On the Operational View screen, press the right control button. The Main Menu screen will appear.
- Press the down arrow until Detector 1 (A-B) is highlighted.
- Press the right control button. The Detector 1 (A-B) screen will appear.

- Press the right control button. The Frequency Settings screen will appear.
- Press the down control button until Freq. Shift is highlighted. Press the right control button. The Freq. Shift screen appears.
