Troubleshoot Magnetic gate key switch
PURPOSE
The key switch is the lock on the Magnetic Gate (pictured below) that moves the gate arm up and down. If the key switch is not opening or closing the gate, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

PROCESS
Key switch will not open the gate
- Unlock and remove the gate cover.
- Connect a jumper between X2 pin 3 to X1 pin 4.
- If the gate opens, there is a problem with the key switch or the key switch wiring.
- Remove the key switch wires from X2 pin 3 and X1 pin 4.
- With the key switch forced to the gate open position, measure the resistance between the wires. There should be continuity when the resistance is measured.
- If there is no continuity or the resistance is high, there is a problem with the key switch or wiring to the key switch.
- Ensure the wiring on the key switch is secure.
- Measure the resistance of both ends of each key switch wire. If the wiring is okay, there is a problem with the key switch (GT06103), and it should be replaced.
Key switch will not close the gate
- Unlock and remove the gate cover.
- Connect a jumper between X2 pin 3 and X1 pin 6.
- If the gate closes, there is a problem with the key switch or the key switch wiring.
- Remove the key switch wires from X2 pin 3 and X1 pin 6.
- With the key switch forced to the gate close position, measure the resistance between the wires.
-
NOTE: The key switch will return to the automatic position if it is let go. Therefore, it must be held in the gate close position for the duration of the resistance measurement.
- There should be continuity when the resistance is measured.
- If there is no continuity or the resistance is high, there is a problem with the key switch or wiring to the key switch.
- Ensure the wiring on the key switch is secure.
- Measure the resistance of both ends of each key switch wire. If the wiring is okay, there is a problem with the key switch (GT06103) and it should be replaced.
