Modified on: Fri, Mar 14 2025 12:14 PMPURPOSE
Troubleshoot a jam in the Hecon Model receipt printer for the Kiosk
PROCESS
- If the paper chute optical sensor becomes dirty or if its cable is damaged, the receipt printer assumes there is a paper jam in the chute and will halt printing until the sensor is repaired.
- Inspect the wires connected to the paper chute sensor and verify that no abrasions exist.
- If no damage to wires, disconnect the wires and continue.
- Tilt the printer mechanism to the left by performing the following:
- Slightly pull blue pins out towards you
- Tilt entire printer to the left
- Look into the paper chute and verify there is nothing physically blocking the paper chute sensor.
- Lightly coat a Q-Tip or similar with isopropyl alcohol.
- Insert the swab into the paper chute and clean the paper chute sensor thoroughly as shown below.
- Reassemble the printer, load receipt paper, and attempt to print a receipt.
- If the problem continues, contact Mister IT for further troubleshooting.
