How to create a new channel in Slack
PURPOSE
Teamwork and communication in Slack happens in channels, where teams can discuss work and share messages, tools and files to a specific group of people. You need to create a slack channel for a group of specific people.
PROCESS
Create New Channel
- In slack click on the plus sign in bottom left corner, above your profile picture
- On the menue that pops up, click Channel
- Next you can either choose a template or select blank and click on Next
- Now it is time to name the channel, type the name in the box and select Create

NOTE: Please see below for the standard names.
- After you create a channel name using one of the above channel prefixes, you are now ready to add people to the channel.
Channel Owner Responsibilities
- The channel owner is responsible for reviewing the channels members and ensuring that all members are part of the Mister team and belong in the channel.

- Teams must use one of the standard channel prefixes to keep names consistent and descriptive.
