Troubleshoot Mister Tablet barcode scanner

Outline the process to setup and troubleshoot the barcode scanner on the Mister Tablets.

Setup
- Scan the barcode pictured below:

- Go to Device Manager. Open the Ports section and find "USB Serial Device".
- Make note of the COM port listed.
- Right click, properties, change to 1 .

- Open the Notepad application and scan a barcode to test.

Potential Errors or Symptoms
- “+E” gets added to barcode field.
- Cursor does not show in barcode field by default.
Troubleshooting Process
- Open Device Manager.
- Select Ports (COM & LPT).
- If “USB Serial Device (COM#)” is already listed and the COM Port number is 1, follow the steps below to reassign it to any number other than 1.
- Right-click on the “USB Serial Device (COM#)” listed above and select Properties.
- Select the Port Settings tab and click Advanced.
- Locate the COM Port Number dropdown menu and select any number other than 1 from the list of available COM port numbers.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
- Restart the tablet for the changes to take effect.
- After the tablet has restarted
- Open Logicwash and test the barcode scanner.
Additional Troubleshooting:
- If the barcode does not scan, follow the steps:
- NOTE: This will program the T1190 function key assignment so both F1 and F2 buttons (pictured) can work for the barcode scanner.

- Restart the tablet
- During boot, navigate into the BIOS by clicking DEL on the Mister Tablet keyboard
- Select the Advanced tab by clicking the right arrow on the keyboard once.
- Find User Defined Key F2
- Press Enter.
- Highlight Barcode Scanner is selected
- Press Enter.

- Navigate to the Save & Exit tab
- Using the keyboard arrow keys
- Select Save Changes and Reset.
- Press Enter to select Yes.

- The tablet will restart
- Test all functionality
