Troubleshoot calendar errors in Outlook
PURPOSE
This guide outlines steps to take to resolve an issue with Microsoft Outlook Calendar reminders and error messages. This guide will take you through creating a new Outlook profile and includes an optional step to install the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) tool.
PROCESS
Creating a New Outlook Profile
- In the Search Bar: Type "Run" in the Windows Search Bar and press enter.
- In the Run window that pops up, type "Outlook.exe /profiles" and press Enter.
- In the Profile Picker window, click Options.

Optional: Check "Prompt for a profile to be used" to choose a profile each time you open Outlook. It’s a best practice to set the new profile as default.
- Click New.
- Enter a descriptive name for your new profile (ex. "CClapp"), then click OK
- Outlook will pop up with your Mister email address, select Connect.
Option - Install SaRA Tool
- Download SaRA: If the instructions above do not resolve the issue, visit this Microsoft website to download and start running SaRA.
Benefits of SaRA
- SaRA helps diagnose and fix Outlook issues automatically.
- It can be a valuable tool for troubleshooting email problems within existing or new Outlook profiles.
- SaRA can also be used for debugging/repairing other common O365 applications or even Windows issues.
