PURPOSE

Instructional guide on how to install a battery backup power supply or UPS.

PROCESS

1. Contact Mister IT to shut down the store’s server, Manager PC, Controller, and if needed, the Send Station.
2. Once they are all shut down, press, and hold the power button on the front to turn off the old UPS. 
   • 
3. You will hear a beep once it is shut down.
4. Disconnect the cables that are connected to the back of the old UPS.
   • 
5. Disconnect the power cable from the outlet.
   • 
6. Unscrew the 4 screws holding the old UPS in the IT Cabinet. Remove the old UPS from the IT Cabinet.
   • 
7. Locate the two mounting brackets and screw them onto the new UPS.
   • 
8. Place the new UPS inside the IT Cabinet and screw the 4 screws into the IT Cabinet to hold the new UPS in place.
   • 
9. Plug in all the cables into the new UPS.
   • 
10. Plug in the power cord into the outlet.
    • 
11. Press and hold the power button to turn the UPS on. You will hear a beep once it is on.

13. Contact Mister IT to verify everything is showing online.
