How to install a Meraki switch in the IT Cabinet

PURPOSE

If your Dell Switch needs to be replaced with a Meraki Switch, follow the steps below to mount the Meraki Switch.


PROCESS

  1. Identify the Dell Switch in the IT Cabinet.
  2. Unplug the Dell Switch’s power cable from the power strip in the back of the IT Cabinet.
  3. Disconnect all the network cables from the Dell Switch.
  4. Dismount the Dell Switch from the IT Cabinet by unscrewing the four screws in the corners. Slide it out of the IT Cabinet.
  5. Slide the Meraki Switch into the IT Cabinet. Screw the four screws in the corners to mount the Meraki Switch in the IT Cabinet.
  6. Connect the network cables into the Meraki Switch. Please follow the Switch Diagram on the IT Cabinet so all the network cables are in their correct ports.
  7. Connect the power cable to the Meraki Switch. Be sure to use the one that waws shipped with the Meraki Switch.
  8. Ensure the lights on the Meraki Switch begin to blink to verify that the Meraki Switch is on.
  9. Contact Mister IT to verify that the connections are set up correctly.
  10. Place the old Dell Switch into the box and using the call tag in the shipment box, ship it back to HQ.
