How to install/replace a PDU in the IT Cabinet

PURPOSE

If you receive a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for the IT Cabinet, follow the steps below to install it.


PROCESS

  1. Open the covered switch. 
  2. Turn off the PDU by switching the power off. 
  3. The red light should not be on.
  4. Disconnect the PDU cable from the Backup Battery UPS.
  5. If there are any other cables, such as the modem, Meraki Firewall, switch, etc., plugged into the old PDU, unplug them.
  6. Unmount the old PDU from the IT Cabinet by unscrewing the 4 screws.
  7. Mount the new PDU to the IT Cabinet by screwing 4 screws.
  8. Plug the cable from the UPS into the PDU and other cables.
  9. Open the covered switch. Turn on the PDU by switching the power on. The red light should now be on.
  10. Verify the IT Cabinet equipment is on by following the Guide: HERE
  11. Contact Mister IT to verify that everything is functioning correctly.
