How to maintain/replace gate keys

PURPOSE

You need to know how to maintain, avoid breaking, and replace gate keys.

PROCESS

Maintenance

Purchase graphite spray or ointment from any hardware store.
Cover the body of the key with the spray/ointment.
Insert the key into the lock to transfer the spray/ointment to the lock. This prevents sticking inside the assembly.

Safe Use

The key must be fully inserted before you turn it. Turning the key while it is only partially inserted may break the key.

Ordering Replacement Keys

Log in to HotShop and search for “key” in the Main Store.
You will need to order keys that match the type of gate at your location
- NOTE: Speak with your Maintenance Manager if you aren’t sure
