Provide best practices for Mister Car Wash team members to protect Mister tablets from the heat and maintain optimal performance during the summer.

Summer heat can seriously affect how efficient the Mister tablets work, especially when we rely on them for smooth customer interactions.

When tablets get too hot, they slow down, the battery drains quicker, and they are more likely to crash.

These can cause delays in service and hurt the overall customer experience.

Here’s are some tips to keep the tablet running cool and maintaining proper efficiency to keep the line moving and the customers happy.

Keep Tablets Out of Direct Sunlight and Away from Hot Surfaces
- Leaving tablets in the direct sun — especially on top of kiosks — can quickly increase their temperature and drain the battery.
- Always keep tablets in the shade, use the shoulder strap to carry them, or store them inside the office when not in use.
- This will help increase performance, improve their lifespan, and reduce the chance of slowdowns during busy times.
Only Keep the Tablets You Need Outside
- Minimize heat exposure and enhance security by keeping only the necessary tablets in outdoor areas.
- Storing unused tablets docked inside the office prevents overheating, reduces the chance of loss or theft, and ensures fully charged backups are readily available.
- Protecting our tablets in this way safeguards the tools essential for everyone's work.
Use the Camera Only When Needed
- Leaving the camera open while waiting for a customer significantly accelerates battery drain and tablet heating.
- Fortunately, the camera now activates quickly, within 0.5 to 1.5 seconds, when required.
- Maintaining a cool tablet temperature optimizes its performance, leading to quicker ticket processing, fewer Logicwash complications, and an improved customer experience.
Speak Up If a Tablet Feels Too Hot
- If the tablet feels unusually warm or starts to slow down, report it to Mister IT or inform the manager immediately.
- Early reporting helps prevent damage and allows Mister IT to address the issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
- Staying proactive ensures smooth service and keeps everything running efficiently.
Rotate Tablets When Possible
- If only using one or two tablets and there are extra tablets available, try to rotate between them during the day.
- This helps spread out the usage and heat load, keeps batteries healthier, and extends the overall life of the devices — especially during hot summer days.
