How to register employee fingerprints on Dayforce timeclock
PURPOSE Employees below the Manager level use the Dayforce Touch clock to punch in and out for shifts and meal breaks. This guide will help as it is used. PROCESS Registering Employee Fingerprints An employee must be enrolled in the touch clock before they can begin using it. This requires that the employee register their fingerprint in the touch clock. From the home screen, touch and hold the Welcome to Dayforce message or any section at the top of the screen. After a few seconds, the application prompts you to enter the admin mode PIN. Do so and tap “Enter”. You will see the Administrator Mode screen. Tap “Fingerprint Enrollment”. The Biometric Mode screen appears. Select “Enroll Employee”. Each finger for the employee be placed on the scanner several times. Once the scan of the first finger is complete, the touch clock will produce an audible alert and a green light will flash. The employee should lift their finger, at which point the screen below appears to prompt the employee to place a second finger on the scanner. Ask the employee to do so. NOTE: To cancel fingerprint enrollment without completing the scan, tap the X button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. QUESTIONS? How to review/correct Dayforce time entry errors
PURPOSE It is important to review your employees’ punches daily. You must find and correct punch errors generated during the day and authorize all shifts to verify that they are complete and correct. Remember that Dayforce will not pay employees for shifts with punch errors. This guide will walk you through the process of finding and correcting punch errors. PROCESS Go to “Timesheets”. Click “Problems” in the header bar. Make sure only “Errors” is selected on the left side of the panel as shown below. This will show only employees with shifts that need to be corrected along with a corresponding error message. The most common error is a shift with a missing punch-out. To select the error, click the line as shown below. This will highlight the row and take you directly to the punch problem on the timesheet. Shown below is the corresponding shift highlighted above. Click the pencil icon and then click “Edit Shift Times”. Enter or correct the punch and click “OK”. Click “Save” at the top of the page in the header bar. To add punches for an unscheduled shift, click the calendar square. Click the carrot to open the dropdown menu and choose “Add New Shift”. The edit shift panel will appear. Enter the missing punches for the shift. Click “Save” at the top of the page in the header bar. After reviewing all punches, correcting all punch errors (including adding missing punches), and saving your changes, you are ready to authorize shifts. To authorize all punches, click “Authorize” in the header bar. QUESTIONS? Reach out to the HRIS team at hris@mistercarwash.com or call us at 520-615-4000, ext. 2004 or 2010.

How to correct missing Dayforce time entries
PURPOSE This guide explains how to correct missed punches during the workday (e.g., while the employee is still working). It is important to follow the procedures in this guide carefully! Failure to do so may result in punch errors that will need to be corrected later. You may also create a situation where an employee cannot punch in or out for the rest of the day. WARNING: Do not insert missed punches mid-shift! To correct a missing punch during a shift, have the employee punch in or out using the Touch clock and then edit to correct the time. PROCESS EMPLOYEE FORGETS TO CLOCK IN Do NOT insert a single punch or entire shift! Instead, have the employee clock in regardless of what time it is and then go into “Timesheets” and adjust the time to the correct clock-in time. Highlight the shift to be corrected. The edit icons appear as shown below. Choose the edit icon and then choose “Edit Shift Time”. NEVER select “Add/Edit Transfer” or “Unlink Shift from Schedule”. Edit the shift times and select “OK”. Be sure to save your changes. EMPLOYEE FORGETS TO PUNCH OUT FOR A MEAL BREAK Do NOT insert a punch for the meal break. Instead, have the employee punch out regardless of what time it is and then adjust the time using the edit function. Alternatively, wait until the meal break is over and then add the entire in and out time for the meal break. Be sure to save your changes. EMPLOYEE FORGETS TO CLOCK IN FROM A MEAL BREAK Do NOT insert a punch for the end of the meal break. Instead, have the employee clock back in from the meal break and adjust the time using the edit function (see above). Be sure to save your changes. EMPLOYEE FORGETS TO PUNCH OUT FOR THE DAY Do NOT insert the end-of-shift punchout. Instead, use the edit shift option in “Timesheets”. See the screenshots in “Employee Forgets to Clock In” and follow the same instructions. Be sure to save your changes. EMPLOYEE DOES NOT PUNCH IN OR OUT ALL DAY Use “Add Shift to Schedule” (if a scheduled shift is listed) or “Add New Shift” (if no scheduled shift is listed). This is the ONLY time you should use either of these functions mid-shift After you “Add Shift to Schedule” for a scheduled shift, you can edit the shift times if the actual time worked differs from what was scheduled. Use the same edit functions described previously. Be sure to save your changes. ADDITIONAL EDIT FUNCTIONS Add New Pay Adjustments Use this button when you need to manually insert a Floating Holiday, Unpaid Sick, Unpaid Vacation, Sick PTO, or Vacation PTO. Timesheet Edit Functions to Avoid We ask that you NOT use some of the edit options provided by Dayforce Timesheets. This is because we have enabled Directional Punch functionality, which helps minimize punch errors by restricting the type of punches employees can select on the Touch clocks. The functions below are NOT compatible with Directional Punch functionality and should NOT be used. Add New Punch(es)—will cause issues with the Touch clock. Add/Edit Transfer—will create problems with punches and the Touch clock. Unlink Shift from Schedule—will create problems in Timesheets. QUESTIONS? Reach out to HR Services at HRHelp@mistercarwash.com or call us at 1-844-529-7392.
