How to get started in Slack
PURPOSE Slack is a workplace chat app that allows teams to collaborate instantly. You can access Slack from your computer or your mobile device. PROCESS Signing Up From your desktop, visit slack.com/get-started. Enter your Mister email and click “Continue”. Check your email for a confirmation code from Slack and enter it. Below “Accept an invitation”, click “Join” next to the workspace you’d like to join. Download the Slack app for iOS or Android. Check your mobile inbox for an email invitation from Slack. Tap “Join Now”. Create your username (your full name and store number. E.g., “Jane Doe TX 015”) and tap “Next”. NOTE: Regional management does not need to include a store number. Create your password and tap “Next”. Joining a Channel - Desktop Click “All channels” at the top of the left sidebar. If you don’t see this option, click “More” to find it Browse the list of channels or use the search bar to find your team’s channel. Select the channel you would like to join and click “Join Channel”. Joining a Channel - Mobile Tap “Search” at the bottom of your screen Tap “Browse channels”. Search for the channel you would like to join and select it. Tap “Join Channel”. Inviting Team Members Select “Mister Car Wash” from the top left side bar. Click “Invite people to Mister Car Wash”. Enter the team member’s email address in the To field. Choose “Member” from the Invite as dropdown. Click “Send”. The team member will receive email instructions to set up their account

Hot to update your status in Slack
PURPOSE You need to update your slack status to provide transparency about your current status and communicate with team members at a glance. PROCESS To update your status, click your icon at the bottom left of the Slack app, the following box in the image below will pop up. Select the box labeled “ : ) Update your status” In the “What’s your status?” box, you can use one of the prepopulated Mister statuses or enter one of your own with a coordinating emoji. It will save as shown above in your recently used statuses, under the “Recent” section so you won’t have to rewrite it repeatedly. How to create a new channel in Slack
PURPOSE Teamwork and communication in Slack happens in channels, where teams can discuss work and share messages, tools and files to a specific group of people. You need to create a slack channel for a group of specific people. PROCESS Create New Channel In slack click on the plus sign in bottom left corner, above your profile picture On the menue that pops up, click Channel Next you can either choose a template or select blank and click on Next Now it is time to name the channel, type the name in the box and select Create NOTE: Please see below for the standard names. After you create a channel name using one of the above channel prefixes, you are now ready to add people to the channel. Channel Owner Responsibilities The channel owner is responsible for reviewing the channels members and ensuring that all members are part of the Mister team and belong in the channel. How to add/remove users to a channel in Slack
PURPOSE This document is to explain how to add or remove users to a Slack channel using a desktop computer, iPhone, or Android phone. PROCESS Using a Computer Open the Slack desktop application. Click “Mister Car Wash” in the upper-left corner. Click “Invite people to Mister Car Wash”. Enter the user’s email address. Choose “Member” or “Guest” from the dropdown field. If you are inviting a member, click “Customize your invitation” to select any other default channels you would like the user to join. If you are inviting a guest, choose the channel(s) you would like them to join and then set a time limit for their account. Click “Send” or “Send Request”. Using an iPhone or Android Phone NOTE: See screenshots for iPhones (left) and Androids (right). From the app’s home screen, swipe to the right to open the Workspaces menu. Tap the three dots icon and select “Invite Members”. Enter the user’s email address or choose to invite someone from your contacts. Select “Send”. Remove Channel Members In the slack channel, click the box with the member icon and number of channel members, located at the top right. When you click this button, it will bring up the list of channel members. If there is a member of the channel who does not belong, click on the three dots next to that member. Click "Remove from channel". Then, another box will pop up asking if you want to remove the member, select "remove".
