How to install a manager computer
PURPOSE If you receive a replacement Manager PC, follow the steps below to set it up. PROCESS Unbox the Manager PC and its power cable from the packaging. Plug in the display and KVM cables to the Manager PC. Ensure the VGA cable (marked blue in the picture below) is attached to the dongle (pictured below). Plug in the network cable to the Manager PC. Replace the existing power cable with the one you received. Plug it into the Manager PC and an outlet. The Manager PC will turn on automatically. If it doesn’t turn on automatically, press the power button on the front of it. The Manager PC will sign in account automatically. If it doesn’t, restart the computer. Click the Internet icon on the bottom right of the screen. Ensure the Manager PC connects to Ethernet. Log into the following applications with the store account credentials: Outlook OneDrive Microsoft Teams Follow the instructions in the Email Signature Guidelines document to create your store’s email signature in Outlook. After the new manager PC is set up Please follow the instructions provided with the return label to send the old Manager PC and its power cable back to HQ using the provided return label..

How to manually set the IP in Windows 10
PURPOSE You need to change the IP address in Windows 10. PROCESS From the main screen, click the Start Menu icon. Start typing “Control Panel” and click the icon when it appears. Click “Network and Sharing Center”. NOTE: If your screen looks different than shown, change the “View by” selection to “Small icons”. Click the Wi-Fi or Ethernet name next to “Connections”. Click “Properties”. On the next popup, scroll down to find “Internet Protocol Version 4”. Click “Internet Protocol Version 4” and then click “Properties”. NOTE: Do not uncheck the box as this will disable the service. Select both “Use the following IP address” and “Use the following DNS server addresses”. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and preferred DNS server from the email that was sent and then click “OK”. Close all remaining windows.

How to auto-adjust application windows
PURPOSE Auto-adjusting or “snapping” your application windows is an easy and effective way to make the most out of your monitor’s limited space. It can help you work more effectively and stay organized when working in two or more windows. PROCESS Windows 10 Snapping with the Keyboard Select the window you want to snap and press the Windows logo key and the left or right arrow key to snap that window to the left or right side of your screen. If you want to move the window to a corner after snapping it, press the Windows logo key and the up or down arrow key to move it to the desired corner. After moving the window to a corner, you can use the Windows logo key and the arrow keys to move it around. You can select another window to snap and show multiple windows side by side. Snapping with the Mouse Select the title bar (i.e., the horizontal bar at the top of a window) of the window you want to snap. Drag it to the left or right edge of the screen. An outline will appear to show where the window will snap to once you drop it. You can drag another window to the opposite side of the screen to show two windows side by side. Apple Hover your pointer over the Full-Screen button in the upper-left corner of the window. You can also click and hold the button. Choose “Tile Window to Left of Screen” or “Tile Window to Right of Screen” from the menu. The window will fill that side of the screen.

How to clean-up computer disk space
PURPOSE If your computer is running low on available disk space this guide will help clean up files on the computer and free up some disk space. PROCESS Check Available Disk Space From your computer desktop Click the magnifying glass (Search) icon in bottom left corner of screen Type "File Explorer" and press enter Right click on "Local Disk (C:) and select Properties Check to see how much space is on your computer Free space should remain at or above 65 GB If at least 65 GB is not available the space needs to be cleaned up Run Disk Cleanup From the previous screen on the local disk Click on Disk Cleanup This will open another dialog box, check all the boxes available Click on Ok to run the disk clean up NOTE: This can take several minutes depending on the amount of files Close all dialog boxes Delete Temporary Files Click the magnifying glass (Search) icon in bottom left corner of screen Type "File Explorer" and press enter Open the local disk (C:) Open the folder - "IT" Select all the files and click delete These are temporary IT setup files on every computer and can be removed safely After all files are deleted go back to the previous folder Open the folder - "Windows" Find and open the folder - "Software Distribution" Open the folder - "Download" Select all the files and click delete These files are temporary Windows update files and can be removed safely If they are needed the computer will download them again. After all files are deleted go back to the folder - "Windows" Open the folder - "Temp" Select all the files and click delete These are computer temporary files and can be removed safely. Close all dialog boxes and continue Use One Drive Follow the following to install and login to One Drive Guide: ONEDRIVE - HOW TO SETUP ONEDRIVE ON COMPUTER After One Drive is setup, move local files to start synchronizing to the cloud. How to backup computer files, bookmarks, & passwords
PURPOSE This document explains how to back up computer files as well as bookmarks and passwords stored in Google Chrome. PROCESS Computer Files NOTE: This task may take 5–60 minutes depending on the size and number of files. Go through each folder on your computer (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.) and select all the files you want to back up. Drag and drop the files to the OneDrive folder. You can move multiple files at once. Bookmarks NOTE: This task will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Open the Chrome browser. Click the vertical dots icon. Hover over “Bookmarks” and select “Bookmark manager”. Click the vertical dots icon in the top-right corner and select “Export bookmarks”. A popup will prompt you to save the bookmarks as an HTML file. Save the file in a OneDrive folder and give it a clear name (e.g., bookmarks_7_6_23). After your computer is converted by IT, navigate to “Bookmark manager” in Chrome. Click the vertical dots icon and select “Import bookmarks”. Select the HTML file saved earlier. Passwords NOTE: This task will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Open the Chrome browser. Click the vertical dots icon and select “Settings”. Click “Autofill and passwords” and then click “Google Password Manager”. Click “Settings”. In the “Export passwords” section, click the Download file button. Enter your password in the Windows Security popup. Click “OK”. Save the file in a OneDrive folder and name it “Chrome Passwords”. After your computer is converted by IT, navigate to “Settings” in Chrome. Click “Autofill and passwords”. Click “Google Password Manager”. Click “Settings”. In the “Import passwords” section, click the Select file button. Select the .csv file saved earlier. After the Conversion Your taskbar will look different after the conversion. Remember to take a photo of it on your phone to reference the layout that you added. Set up a printer at HQ by following the PRINTER - HOW TO MAP A PRINTER TO YOUR COMPUTER - HQ. Add your Outlook signature back to your emails by following the Email Signature Guidelines.

How to run Windows update in Windows 10
PURPOSE You need to know how to check for Windows update on your computer. PROCESS Click the Action Center icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen. Select “All settings” in the popup menu. You may need to click “Expand” to see “All settings”. Click “Update & Security”. Select “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update”. Please wait while your computer is scanning for updates. You can still work on your machine while it is looking. If an update is found, it will either start downloading and installing the update or it will wait for you to choose to download and install the update (see image below). Let your computer download and install all updates. Restart your computer when prompted. After your computer restarts, repeat steps 1-7 until there are no more pending updates. NOTE: You may see the following error message below. Some updates are managed by a central update server within MCW. The error message is essentially the same as your computer being up to date. Also, it is always a good idea to restart your computer before and after checking for updates.

How to schedule a restart for Windows update
PURPOSE How to schedule a restart to install Windows Updates PROCESS You will receive a notification similar to the one below. Hit “Ok” Locate the update icon in your lower right system tray. You can either hit “restart now” to implement the update, in this example it will take about 4 mins. OR you can schedule the restart Toggle the button to “on” and select a convenient date/time to perform the reboot. NOTE: You will only be allowed to schedule before the deadline (typically a 4-day window). In this example you can only schedule some time before 4/16.

How to access your MCW workspace
PURPOSE This document describes the process for installing and connecting to your Mister Car Wash Workspace desktop on your personal computer or tablet. NOTE: This is only for employees who do not have MCW Laptops. PROCESS Go to Amazon Workspaces Client Download Select and download the client that you will be using. Follow the prompts provided in the Amazon Workspaces Setup Following the prompts, select "Install for all users of this machine when prompted. Once it has been installed, launch it by clicking on the Amazon Workspaces icon on your computer or tablet's desktop. You will prompted to enter the registration code that is provided in the email you received. Login with you Amazon Workspace credentials, which will be the same username and password you use to log into your computer in the office. NOTE: Do not include your email address (@mistercarwash.com) in you login After a few minutes, your Amazon Workspace desktop will be available to start working on. NOTE: Once you are logged in, please disconnect from your workspace to immediately upgrade the software. Instructions for Immediately Upgrading Software Click Amazon Workspace on the upper left corner. Then click Disconnect Workspace. Once you have been disconnected, lcick the icon again to upgrade the software. NOTE: You will need to Install Update and follow the same prompts from earlier. Once the update is installed, you will notice a different login screen. Enter you username and password to login to your workspace You are now logged into your upgraded MCW Workspace. NOTE: If you don't see all your icons, click Windows start icon on the bottom left corner to view all your programs alphabetically.

Troubleshoot computer programs or freezing issues
PURPOSE You need to troubleshoot your computer because it is freezing or behaving strangely. PROCESS Programs Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete simultaneously and click the Task Manager option. Select the frozen application from the list in Task Manager. You may see a note next to the application that says “Unresponsive” or “Not Responding”. Once selected, click the End task button in the bottom-right corner of the menu. After the application closes, reopen it and it should run correctly. If you are still experiencing issues, restart your computer. Normal Shutdown (Preferred Method) Click on the Windows icon in the lower left bottom select the power button. Select restart computer. Forced Shutdown If you are unable to shutdown your computer normally you will have to proceed with a forced shutdown. Hold down the power button on the machine until it forcibly turns off. This usually takes about 10 seconds. Wait a few seconds after the computer has completely shut down Turn the computer back on again by quickly pressing the power button. If issues persist submit a ticket to MisterIT
