How to connect to a printer in Windows 10 - HQ
HQ Staff Only PURPOSE The purpose of this document is to guide the user on how to connect their Windows 10 computer to a printer at the HQ offices. VIDEO PROCESS Open the Start menu and click “Control Panel”. The Control Panel may appear in one of two ways (examples are shown below). If it is View 1, select “View devices and printers”. Control Panel View 1: If it is View 2, select “Devices and Printers”. Control Panel View 2: The Devices and Printers page will open. Click “Add a printer”. An ‘add a device’ pop-up will appear. Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”. An ‘Add Printer’ pop-up will appear. Select “Add a printer using an IP address or hostname”. Click “Next”. In the ‘Device type’ drop-down menu, select “TCP/IP Device”. Enter the IP address of the printer you would like to add. Ensure the “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use” box is checked. Click “Next”. NOTE: Reference Appendix A (Below), which lists the IP address for each printer. If you have connected to the printer before, select “Use the driver that is currently installed (recommended)”. Click “Next” and skip to Step 13. If you are connecting to a Canon printer at HQ-North, select the driver (referenced below). Once the driver is selected, add the printer’s name from Appendix A. Then, click “Next”. Select “Do not share this printer”. Click “Next”. If you would like to print a test, click “Print a test page”. If not, click “Finish”. Back in Devices and Printers in the Control Panel Right-click on the old printer (printer with the same name but ending in mcw-dc01.mistercarwash.local) Select “Remove device”. How to connect to a printer in Windows 11 - HQ
HQ Staff Only PURPOSE The purpose of this document is to guide the user on how to connect their Windows 11 computer to a printer at the HQ offices. PROCESS Open the Start menu and click “Settings”. In the window that opens, find a click "Bluetooth & Devices" On the left select "Printers & Scanners" Next click "Add a Printer & Scanner", click "Add Device" This will search for available printers and devices it can find. Look at this list and select the appropriate printer. If unsure, scroll to the bottom and click "Add Manually" An ‘Add Printer’ pop-up will appear. Select “Add a printer using an IP address or hostname”. Click “Next”. In the ‘Device type’ drop-down menu, select “TCP/IP Device”. Enter the IP address of the printer you would like to add. NOTE: Reference Appendix A (Below), which lists the IP address for each printer. Keep the “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use” box checked, then click “Next”. If you have connected to the printer before, select “Use the driver that is currently installed (recommended)”. Click “Next” and skip to Step 13. How to setup an HP LaserJet Pro M225 printer - Store
PURPOSE This document provides the steps necessary to setup a HP LaserJet Pro M225 printer at a store. PROCESS On the printer press the OK button once. Press the wrench button once. Press the left arrow button next to the OK button twice. Press the OK button. Press the OK button, then press the right arrow button three times. Press the OK button, then type in the IP address. Press the OK button Press the OK button again, type in the “Subnet Mask” shown below, then press the OK button twice. The display should read “Default Gateway”. Type in the gateway address you were given and press the OK button twice The display should change to look like the image below. This means the settings have been saved and the printer is properly configured.

How to setup an HP LaserJet M430 MFP printer - Store
PURPOSE This document was created to explain how to setup the HP M430 Printer at a store. PROCESS Verify the printer is the same model. Connect the ethernet cord and power cable to the printer. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the IT Cabinet network switch Dell Switch: Port 40 Mounted at the top of the cabinet and has a black front. Meraki Switch: Port 30 Mounted at the top of the cabinet and has a white front. Click “Settings” NOTE: You may need to slide your finger across the screen to get to the Settings section Click the Networking tab. Click “Ethernet”. Click “TCP/IP”. Click “IPV4 SETTINGS Click “CONFIG METHOD” Select “MANUAL”. Then, click “OK”. Then, click “IP ADDRESS” to enter your IP address. Enter your IP address. Then, click “OK”. Dell Switches: the IP address is 10.12.x.30 (x is site specific). Meraki Switches: the IP address is 10.30.10.30 Enter 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask. Then, click “OK”. Enter the default gateway. Then, click “OK”. Dell Switches: the default gateway is 10.x.x.1 (x is site specific). Meraki Switches: the default gateway is 10.10.10.1 On the Manager PC, search for printers & scanners on the taskbar. Open “Printers & Scanners”. Click “Add a printer or scanner”. The HP MFP M430 printer will be listed. Right click on it and click “Add device”. Then, click on the “Open printer app” An HP Smart window will appear. Click “Accept” and then click “Set Up a New Printer”. Click on your printer that is displaying as “Online”. Your printer will display as “Ready”. Open Control Panel by searching it on the taskbar, and right click “View devices and printers Right click on your printer and click “Set as default printer”. Right click on your printer again and click “Printer properties”. Select “Print Test Page”. Your printer should now print a test page. Scanner Configuration In a web browser type in your printer IP Dell Switches: the IP address is 10.12.x.30 (x is site specific). Meraki Switches: the IP address is 10.30.10.30 In the Security tab, check "Enable Remote User Auto Capture" then click apply. In the Network tab, clip "Other Settings", then ensure "WebScan" and "Secure WebScan" are checked and click apply. Open HP Smart, click "Scan" and verify if the scanning functionality is now working. How to scan & email documents
PURPOSE If you need to scan a document and email it to keep a digital copy of a physical file, follow the steps below. PROCESS From the Printer There are two way to load the document to be scanned: Using Scanner Glass Lift the scanner lid and load the item to scan on the scanner glass. Place the item print side down on the scanner glass Position it according to the engraved guides along the edge of the glass NOTE: This is usually on the right-front corner or left-front corner. Using Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Place the item print into the document feeder tray. The print side faces up, and the top edge goes into the tray first. Slide the item into the ADF until you hear a tone or see a message on the control panel display This indicates the loaded item is detected. Adjust the paper guides to fit the document. From your computer Open the HP Smart app home screen, click the Scan tile. From the Scan window, select the following options: Document type: document Page size: 8 ½ x 11 Output type: PDF Resolution: Leave default Click Scan and a preview of the scan will then display. On the preview screen, check the quality and ensure it is what you would like to be scanned. If it is good, continue to Step 8, if not, continue to Step 6. Click Edit and make any changes with the app editing tools. An editable preview displays as settings are changed, such as: Crop or rotate the scan. Click and hold one of the blue dots to manually adjust the border. Adjust the contrast, brightness, and saturation. These items help clear up the quality of the image. When all changes have been made, click Apply. The Result window displays any changes to the scan. From the Result window, you can print, save, share, or add pages to the scan: Print: Send the scan job to the printer. Save: Save the scan as PDF in the Documents folder on your computer. Add a page: Add one or more pages to the current scan job. After you save the scan job, click OK. You can now start a new email and attach your document to send. How to scan documents with a smartphone
PURPOSE You need to know how to scan a document with your phone and email it. PROCESS Download a Scanning App A scanning app is needed to email documents. Using a scanning app is easier than fax and provides better quality than sending a picture of a document. NOTE: The directions below assume you are using Adobe Scan as your scanning app—other apps may function slightly differently. Scanning Using the App Before scanning place your document on a flat surface. NOTE: This helps provide best quality. Launch Adobe Scan and select the camera icon at the bottom. Hold your phone flat above the document you need to scan. Auto-capture is enabled by default, and the app will automatically detect the borders of the document and scan an image. Press “Continue”. You will return to the scanning screen if you need to scan another page. Repeat previous steps for all the pages of your document. After all pages are scanned Select the thumbnail in the bottom-right corner (i.e., the icon labeled “View scan” on the image above). You can edit the document title by clicking the pencil icon. Then click “Save PDF”. Email the document by selecting the Share icon. Select “Email Fill out the email and click the arrow icon to send it. You can email your PDF directly to an addressee or send it to your store email if you need to upload the PDF from a computer
